4 STEPS TO UNCLOG YOUR DRAIN WITH BAKING SODA & VINEGARFollow these easy steps to unclog your drain:
STEP 1:Start by pouring a pot of boiling water down the drain.
STEP 2:Next, pour a cup of baking soda and 1 cup water/1 cup vinegar solution.
STEP 3:Cover with the drain plug and wait 5 to 10 minutes.
STEP 4:Pour boiling water down the drain again.
The bubbling reaction from the baking soda and vinegar helps to loosen the drain clog, and the boiling water in step 4 helps remove it from your pipes.

Hello Barb! The problem we seem to have in our house is that there's a lot of hair that gets wrapped around the up/down drain plug in the bathtub and in that first section of pipe. You can remove that drain plug and pull out the hair. It's gross and slimy so wear gloves!

Unclog Drains Without Plunging
Remove as much as possible with a snake or drain cleaning tool. Pour ½ cup baking soda then ½ cup white vinegar in the drain and cover, letting sit for 20 minutes. Boil water, remove cover, and pour water down the drain. You may have to repeat the process.
Unscrew the drain cover and stick your finger in there. If it's like my tub it's full of hair.

Hi Barb - This is what we do and it works really well. Pour 1 TBSP of baking soda and then 1/2 cup vinegar slowly down the drain. Let it fizzle and pour a little more. Then follow up with boiling water. You will probably need to repeat 2-5 times. For the most stubborn drains, I use BioKleen which is less toxic than traditional drain cleaners. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
