Can you provide a picture so it will be easier to help ?
Paint it with chalk paint.
How about something like this, in the colors you like?

Can you provide a picture of that table ?
I’d say paint it using chalk paint.
Do you have a picture of it? Is it made out of wood you could upcycle into shelving?
Maybe upcycle it into a bench if it's rectangular shaped.
I would love to see a pic of the coffee table. I've taken really narrow tables and antiqued them and did a stencil that I distressed, I've done some that I simply conditioned and waxed the wood. It all depends on the style for me. I would not distress an MCM style coffee table, for example
Paint it change hardware add wood pieces to update add trim stencil
You could remove the table top, add handles and have a tray. Another idea would be to remove the short legs and add long ones for another taller table.
Take the top off and decoupage a picture onto it, then hang it on the wall, the edge would be the frame. Save the legs for another project-put them together and have a nice candle holder.
