Hi Lin, I would think they would be ok thrown in a washing machine but you could always try hand washing them in the tub first.
You could likely launder them using cold water in a load that isn't too crowded. I'd suggest hang drying until they are nearly dry, then throwing in the dryer at a very low setting. Too high heat in either applicance could damage the backing.
Lin: to be safe... hand wash them in cold water
Hi Lin, I agree with GrandmasHouseDIY, you should be able to throw them in the washing machine. Rather than hand washing them in the tub though, I'd wash them on gentle cycle in warm water in the machine. If you could hang them damp, you should be able to avoid ironing.
I agree as well, don't put them in the dryer. Just hang them back up damp
Hi there,
Wash in machine on 40 degrees. Best wishes
I agree with the above but I would wash in cold water, on the gentle cycle and then hang to dry. Sort of just you would do with a shower curtain.
can't wash them in bathroom tub. I'm 72 and wear a brace because of a surgeon did a bad surgery. So I guess I will try to put them in the gentle cycle in the wash machine and let you all know what happens. Thanks everyone. I have a book I keep alot of tips in of all kinds.
What about a handheld steam cleaner?
The steam shouldn’t ruin the backing-it’s not directly on it.
Try spraying with upholstery cleaner and vacuuming.
