we used this kit and it made a big difference https://www.charlestoncrafted.com/how-to-use-the-mohawk-buff-and-polish-kit/
Lightly sand, re-stain, and polish. I used dark wax with an electric buffer.
You would need to sand down to raw wood. Then you can stain and seal.
We sanded down our table and re-stained it because it was a mess. It came out great and wasn't that hard to do. You can peek at it if you like. https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2019/11/how-to-refinish-wooden-kitchen-table.html
It depends on how bad. If just dull and minor scratches use Old English scratch cover and polish. If needs more attention then refinish it by using stripper before just sanding.
You might want to try mayonnaise first before you do any sanding. Might be a quick fix that will surprise you.
If the scratches are minor Resor-a-finish and Feed-n-wax might do the trick.
Look into Old English scratch cover. It comes in 2 shades and may be able to hide the scratches.
Another trick is rubbing the meat of a walnut on the scratches.
Rejuvenate products might work as well.
Hello. There are a few options that are sucessful.
The brown tinted Old English polish liquid hides lots of problems. The different colored magic markers meant for furniture touch up are beneficial too.
