Here is some info for your project. But I took an old antique desk with 4 shallow drawers and 2 deep drawers and turned it into a vanity for my bedroom. I had a mirror so just painted the desk and put some drawer liners in the drawers and it is perfect for a makeup station

Other than using it as a dresser again, you could use it as a TV stand, a coffee bar, bar, or credenza.
Here's a pretty one! I am always a fan of red!

Do you have a picture? Do you want to keep it as a dresser and just give it an updated look? You could change it to more of a dining room storage if you got rid of the 2 deep drawers and put in cute baskets in there instead.
Here is a post i did for a small desk you can use the same concept.https://www.simplenaturedecorblog.com/how-to-decoupage-a-desk/

Hi Sheryl,
You could cover it in Fabric or wallpaper, Decoupage, Paint, Distress, Change the Ironmongery, Paint the frame and Paper the drawers. Mirror the drawers and sides and Polish the frame. Sand and stain and polish the lot! It's really a matter of taste.
