No paint that is food safe. If they are clear you can paint the underside
Amy: William gave the correct answer! But you can do some fun "reverse painting" on the other side!
Hi Amy. Hope this helps you paint your cake plate. You could always buy paper doily and put it on top of the plate when you serve food. Stay well. I suggest choosing an enamel acrylic paint which is specially formulated for use on both ceramics and glass. We used the Folk Art brand of enamel paint on our platters. This kind of paint is a little more expensive than your standard acrylic paint, but it is more durable and scratch resistant.Mar 19, 2020
There isn't a paint the is food safe. Like the others have said, you can paint the underside or place a plate on the stand and put the food on the plate, not directly on the stand.
You can also cover the glass with a paper or cloth napkin to avoid contact with the paint. One clever idea I have seen is to stretch plastic wrap over the surface before putting food on it. Good luck and stay safe!
Thank you! Good idea on the plastic wrap.
I use plastic wrap each time I serve cheese biscuits or cheese straws (to prevent grease stains) in my weave baskets. I also have a large straw basket I use as a fruit basket, I do the same thing in the event a piece of fruit spoils so it doesn’t stain my basket. Works great!
food safe paint. ... There are no "food safe paints" on the market for the hobbyist. Some paints are "non-toxic" but this is not the same as food safe. You could use glass paints to create a border for the cheese tray but be sure to leave plenty of room so that cheese and crackers do not come into contact with the paint.
no most paint will come off when you wash it, too.
Hi! Not really. As others have mentioned, reverse painting is an option. I usually use a pretty plate for each tier so I know it's safe. An alternative would be to place a cloth napkin under food. Good luck and stay safe!
