I've always like the weave idea for outside chairs. Its comfortable and easy to do and, depending on the material you choose to work with, it can last a LONG time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmDJ43Qlrzw
GrandmasHouseDIY has the right idea. You can buy webbing at Lowe's, Home Depot, or Menards.

I would use that nylon strap stuff (like you would find on a tote bag!
We replaced the slings on our furniture, but I believe you need the chairs with the slings to do it. There is a slider that goes between. If you're going to replace the chair webbing, it might be a very difficult job. You might be better off purchasing new and if so, I recommend aluminum. It doesn't rust and it lasts forever.

I have some similar chairs in similar shape. I plan to paint the frames ORB and use taupe cord to macreme the seats and backs. I admit, I'm copying a look I saw at Lowes.....
