Weeds?
I have lots of weeds growing in between my brick driveway & walkway. Is there an easy & cheap way to get rid of them? I've tried spraying them with commercial stuff but that doesn't seem to work. Plus I have arthritis so it's difficult to constantly pull the trigger. Any ideas? Thanks everyone !..........Madeline

Pour bleach in as big of a watering can that you can handle and (dilute if you wish) make sure you cover yourself or wear all white and pour over your weeds. Let it sink in and rinse in real good. Repeat every other day and/or as needed!!!
The large extended use Round-up worked well for me. If you are generous with the spray it works to prevent weeds. It has a sprayer than works on a battery--just hold down the button.
Get yourself a 1 or 2 gallon pump sprayer, much easier. I just use plain old white vinegar in a pump sprayer. Have many pets and will not use any chemicals.
Or if all else fails, just place in a small pitcher to make it easier to pour. Be generous. Works best in direct sunlight. Will work in shade as well, just takes longer. I don't use any salt as it is too corosive gime.
This DIY works pretty good:
2 cups white vinegar
¼ cup salt
Squirt of dawn
Mix in a spray bottle. If you have a larger area, you can mix in a garden sprayer with larger quantities. Use when it will not be raining for a few hours so that it isn’t washed away.
Also, if you put in a sprayer that you pump, you can just lock the sprayer in place and it will continue to spray.
If you have a Tractor Supply nearby, you might invest in their weed killer. It works for the entire year. Much better than round up or cornerstone, which is what we used on our farm until finding their product.
Another tip is that if you are buying the kind you mix, most people put more weed killer than called for which lessens the effectiveness. It's the most common mistake in the U.S., according to my earth science professor about 8 years ago.
Round Up is super bad for the environment, people, and animals. See if you can find a more natural one like Natura and like Naomie said, try a pump sprayer or pitcher. Regardless, none of these work well, you have to keep applying.

The Roundup will kill the weeds, but it is a toxic chemical that will wash down into the soil and the runoff. The decomposing plants will break down and release the Roundup that has been taken up into them from the roots and the above ground part, this will find it's way to the streams, rivers, and lakes, contaminating the drinking water. White vinegar will do the same thing without any toxic chemicals.
The only safe, permanent method I have found is to dig them out. Good luck and stay safe!
Hi Madeline, hope this helps you out, also, it uses a pump sprayer so you don't have to use a trigger,

Hi Madeline, sorry you suffer with arthritis, very painful. I take our lightweight weed eater and turn it sideways, takes the weeds right out. You can also pour boiling water over the cracks and the weeds will die. Good luck.
Hello. I understand your situation it could be a chronic war with weed to get rid of them.
Without a photo it’s hard to say exactly what would be the best solution.
if it’s a small area or crack to be addressed, I’m wondering if there’s a way to put down some polymetric sand to help seal out in a grout fashion that will not accommodate the weeds
For paver/stone/gravel patios
I use one cup of vinegar, one cup of salt to two gallons water in a garden sprayer. Saturate the weeds till dripping. Do not use on lawn or in garden. Will kill everything. Boiling water on weeds in lawn and garden.
