You can block some popups with your settings. Unfortunately I find I sometimes have trouble with some sites when I do. I appreciate how you feel. It annoys me too. Good luck and stay safe!
Are you using Safari browser?
If so, open Safari Preferences. Open Extensions.
There are several choices of free Ad Blocks that you can download onto your browser. This is fast and usually takes less than one minute.
I am not as familiar with Firefox browser, but I do know that there are similar Ad Block Applications or Extensions that you can easily load.
It should be as simple as swiping it away . Look in the top right hand for a x. This is a feature that comes with some advertisers. I know Google adsense has it. I hate it in mobile it takes up so much space.
Yes, I agree:). You can click the X at the top right. I think it may keep coming back though. But yes you might have to do more by going through the browser
Just click the X!
By clicking the ad and giving a reason, it will help. But free sites survive because of advertisements so it's the price you pay instead of cash.
Those are put there by the owner of the web page to get some income out of their page. There should be a small "X" in the upper right hand corner of the page where you can close it.
Hello. I agree they’re annoying and irritating. Sometimes is a little X in the corner which will close the ad but I just try to ignore them personally
Hi KB,
As others have said, this a way the website owner can earn a small amount of money. The issue is that it costs money to put up a website. Their choice is either to charge a fee to use their website or try to generate enough money to pay for the site. The biggest part of the problem is that sometimes the ads are in the way of the content. That is annoying. Website owners often don't have the ability to actually place the ads or designate their size. Since all of us want the internet to be free, people try to generate enough income to pay the fees they are charged for the website name, the bandwidth and other expenses. Many websites need insurance in case someone sues them. That does happen in this crazy world. The best we can do is just ignore the ads, IMHO. Yes, you can use an ad blocker, but that can mess up some streaming websites. Websites that stream content also have to pay for that content. A good example would be Hulu and Netflix. They have to pay for every show they stream. That's why they either run ads or they charge people to watch their channels. I hope that helps you understand why almost all websites contain ads. Wishing you the best.
Clicking on the little X in the corner of the ads will only close that one particular ad. Unless you put a ad block on your browser, a new ad will just pop up again in the same spot.
