Tub Refinish
The tub in my income property has seen better days! But because it's a rental, plus being in a condo, I was not going to rip it out and replace it. I did some online research and found a tub refinish kit.
The cost was under $100 Canadian including materials and brushes. I read tons of reviews, good and bad but figured why not?
I started by removing the caulking and giving the tub a good clean. I then gave it a light sand and rinsed it twice.
It was in pretty bad shape!
Once fully dry, I started the first coat. At first I was a little concerned. When I mixed the two bottles in the kit together it was pretty thin and when painting it on seemed like it wouldn't work. But, I kept going. What do I have to loose at this point!
The first coat looked very thin and see through. There was enough for a second coat but it did not look like enough for what I figured would needed a third.
You need to follow the directions properly. Once mixed, the paint must be used in a certain time frame so plan accordingly.
Once dried, I started on the second coat. The paint is a little finicky so work quick. After the second coat it looked a lot better. I was very surprised. The coverage was great and it didn't need a third coat.
There it is! All shiny and new. If you look very closely, you can see some paint strokes but for a rental property that gets ton of wear and tear, I was quite happy with the turn out!
Now it's ready for pics and what a huge difference!
I would definitely recommend this product but like I said, make sure to follow the directions.
Happy painting!!

Can this product be used on sinks as well. Mine needs a new coat. It is also a rental so I dont want to put alot of money into it.
