Shabby Chic Bottle Makeover
Let's turn our wine bottle to a stunning Shabby Chic Home Decor accent. Let's put Mod-Podge and some pretty napkins to work.
A while back I purchased some pretty napkins with hope that I can put them into use. It took me a while to figure myself in this project. As I was putting my recycle together I noticed nice size bottle so I decided to work with it
Just because background of my napkin was light and my bottle was green I decided to cover it with white chalk paint. Two coats were needed for full coverage.
My little bottle had a gold trim right on its neck so painting bottom with touch of gold was no brainer to mimic that look
As you can see it is not perfect but I have a plan for that. I like to cover that line with my napkin. Mod- Podge is really helpful in that process. Thin coat of it helped me attach my napkin to my bottle. Make sure to separate your ply's and use only ply with design on it
Saran Wrap is really helpful with this process. It helps to achieve perfect application and removes all lines and bubbles without ripping a delicate napkin.
Look at that smooth installation ... Love how my flower filed beautifully wraps bottom of my bottle.
After first application is completely dry it is a good idea to add another thin coat of Mod-Podge to protect all nicely. I decided also to add a rope bow with couple of the wooden beads to finish it all up.
Loved this project soo much so I decided to make over my big wine bottle to have set and look at that vignette. Don't you just love it ?
Perfect accessory for any vignette in my house. If you enjoy that project please make sure to visit my BLOG for more budget friendly inspirations
