Southern Traditions: Why Did My Grandmas Sweep Their Yards?
My question as I watched these grandparents was always, "Why are you sweeping your yards, and why is there no grass around your house?" We have grass around ours.
You can use a broom to reach the cobwebs and just sweep them away. To keep more webs from forming you should then use either an aerosol or spay to repel spiders. Here's some info: https://www.thespruce.com/effective-tips-for-controlling-house-spiders-2656497

Sprays work well for keeping spiders away. If you want to try something natural peppermint oil works wonders against spiders. You can make your own spray by mixing it with water in a spray bottle.
Peppermint oil. They don't like it. Soak cotton balls with the oil and place in strategic places. I used some inexpensive plastic bowls to place them in my garage from any dollar store. Plus I have a shop vac and suck up any that do appear.
Spiders actually cut way down on bugs. I don't spray for mine, just sweep them away with routine cleaning. A natural spray for surfaces like Aunt Fannie's Pest Spray will minimize them if needed. Good luck and stay safe!
Hi Ron, hope this helps you get rid of and keep away cobwebs in your garage. Then he pointed out no dusty cobwebs in corners and nooks. He said he heard this tip and seems to work.... Clean garage and then spray (garden sprayer) a mixture of at least 50/50 Vinegar/water into corners and nooks where spiders usually build webs. He said it keeps them from coming back.Nov 17, 2011

Hello Ron,
Put up a notice saying "KEEP OUT" . Go around with a long stick or a feather duster during the Autumn on a regular basis, or maybe use the Vac in there. If you do get a better answer - let me know!
I bug bomb the garage in the Spring & Fall. Piperonyl Butoxide is a key ingredient, when shopping for bug bombs
Here is some info also you can use essentials oil in a spray bottle

Diatomaceous earth. Spread it around the edges, behind cabinets, anywhere you don't walk or drive over. It will kill anything with an exoskeleton so spiders will be history. It is still effective if it gets wet, as long as it isn't washed away.
Also I take my leaf blower & blow the ceiling, walls & floor clean- but get the car out of there first.
to get rid of the cobwebs you need to get rid of the spiders: https://www.craftylittlegnome.com/how-to-get-rid-of-spiders-naturally/
Insulating the garage ceiling, between the joists has been found to be effective in significantly reducing cobwebs and spiders, in the garage. Obviously, reducing hiding places for spiders via consolidating/reorganizing and thorough cleaning of all items will minimize the potential for other bugs to enter your garage, thus attracting spiders. Seal up any cracks you find in the garage walls, along the floor, and around drains. Sometimes pouring leach down garage drains will reduce the potential for bug entry. Also, check the garage door to insure you have a tight fitting seal, all around, and change the astragal, as warranted.
