Perhaps get a platform bed. Keep your mattress if you like it.
Robin: Maybe you can take mattress off and shore the wood frame up with additional framing wood --- nailed into the existing one. Then put back mattress.
I built our own platform bed a few years ago and totally love it. It was pretty simple too! https://www.hometalk.com/diy/bedroom/furniture/build-your-own-platform-bed-frame-diy-27819376

You could build your own bed frame. You might even be able to use the same slats you have. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/bedroom/furniture/building-a-simple-bed-frame-459758
Building A Simple Bed Frame
I ordered a metal bed frame from amazon.com last year. It has no box spring so that extra room is for more storage space. My bed frame is 14 inches off the ground basically doubling the storage space. Read customer reviews as the product quality missing in some frames changed my mind. A queen sized bed frame was less then $100. Excellent quality and would buy again.

We bought a platform bed frame for our guest room. It was simple to set up, is very sturdy, and you can add a headboard if you want. Good luck and stay safe!

Where exactly on the frame did it break?
Is it a crack in the wood? Did a piece of wood come unscrewed from another piece, or how would describe the 'break'?
I like flipturns question - depends on where it broke. It may be repairable. But if you have the funds, and don't want to spend the time trying to fix it when it sounds like it's had its day, then I'd get a new one.
Hello Robin,
Yes, it could be a good time to treat yourself! If you are handy in the shed, you could re-use the slats for another project or keep or donate to someone else to use or sell to help fund the new bed ?
You can try to repair it unless the break is really bad, then you might need to get a new one.
