You could paint the frame with rustoleum. I love rustoleum metallics.
Or add something with a heavy duty glue to the frame like oyster shells. Here is a tutorial. Isn't this cool:

The easiest way would be to glue corner trim to all 4 corners (use E6000 and secure them with tape). Cut wood trim precisely the measurement from the edge of 1 corner trim to the next and glue again. Repeat on all 4 sides. Paint or stain the wood prior to gluing 😎

Can you show some pictures ? it all depends wheres do you want to place .. I would for sure use some mercury effect on it .. How big is it?

It is off the wall behind my dresser and it is huge. Before I saw this blog I called hobby lobby about a large frame around it...397.00. Oops! Not no but no!
