Simple Thrifted Basket Wall
I love to thrift, and recently scored a stack of 14 small baskets (I believe they were previously used as paper plate holders). To say I have a few basket walls now would be an understatement!! I decided to add a small basket wall in my yoga room. So cheap & so easy!!
The stack of baskets I scored for $2 at a thrift store. There were a stack of 14 baskets that were all the same. I decided to break them up a bit by staining a few of them.
I decided to stain 2 out of 4 baskets as I did not want them all to be the same colour. You could also paint them (I may try this for my next basket wall).
I used two Varathane Stains I already had on hand in the colours, Kona & Linen White. - be sure to use gloves to protect your hands & it’s always a good idea to stain in a well ventilated area like outside (I moved them outside to stain). I used a lint free rag to apply the stain.
I only did one coat of stain for each basket.
Once your baskets are fully dry, you can hang them. For this particular basket wall I used small 1” finishing nails to hang the baskets (put the nail in the middle of the basket and hammered it into the wall). The nails are a gold colour & you can’t even see them as they blend in with the baskets.
This is how i styled my baskets! Love how this simple and super cheap project turned out!!
