If you want to do it semi-permanently, you could add a desk and bookcase. Then pick up some furniture like armoire or chifferobe, even a portable closet.
For something more permanent, build out a walk in closet space. Then add the desk and bookcase area

You can easily create an office in a bedroom space. Simply figure out what all equipment, furniture you'd like for the area. Two file cabinets make an excellent base for a desk and can be creaed by measuring and installing either a piece of plywood cut to the correct size or you could even purchase laminate countertop cut to size. A couple o bookcases can be turned outwards and spaced several feet apart to create a closet/storage area with a curtain rod between. A nice office chair would complete the area. Lower bookcase could serve as a place for a printer, etc.
Maybe this video will give you some ideas....Start watching, then STOP at 4:15 minutes in.....when office portion ends.

I just used the closet for the office--not a walk in, just an ordinary deepish closet. I wish I could show you a pic, but it was in my former apartment. The room had two closets, so I just put a shelf in it and put my huge old table top house sized monitor and computer in it. I didn't even take the door off. a modern tablet would make it easier. Pull up a chair. I snaked an extension cord from a nearby plug ad made it electrified.I put the door closed and the chair against the wall.
Basically, you need a work surface, which can be as simple as sawhorses with plywood, a comfortable chair and good lighting. With Wifi and a cell phone, you are ready to go. Make sure you have a good temperature in the room. To be considered a bedroom, it probably already has a closet, but an armoire or free standing coat rack will also work. Good luck and stay safe!
Hi Katherine,
Are you wanting to continue using the room for sleeping in, as well as for office type duties,
or,
Are you planning to take the bed out, and totally change the function of the space into an office?

They have office armoires that would just fit into the existing bedroom. You can put your computer on the fold out desk and there's room for tons of supplies. I use one as a sewing table/ craft area in an exiting room and I got it for about $75 at a thrift store. You can peek: https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2014/09/my-dream-craft-space.html

Sounds like you need to add a couple of small walls for the closet? Frame it out, add sheet rock, seal the seems and you can paint. You may need to hire someone who has done this before you help you out a bit.
I would get some storage to make it easy to find things. You could get a desk and an armoire so that it can be dual purpose in the same space
