You can use a small vibratory saw to cut them out. Then use the area for decor. Most likely, you will have to finish the wall above the cabinets.

What box is over which cabinets? Typically removal of sections of cabinets is most easily done with a saws-all.

Hi! Are they soffits? Any kind of enclosed area at ceiling height is usually there to disguise pipes, wiring or duct work. Unfortunately, the only way to be 100% sure what they contain is to open them up. You can start by cutting out a section to get a better view of what is in there. Most are sheetrock, attached to a frame. You can make a hole with a utility knife or hammer and carefully widen it in case you have to repair it later. With luck, they won't contain anything and can be removed. If they do contain anything, you will have to evaluate if it's worthwhile to relocate something. Good luck and stay safe!
