Need help with kitchen island update
Need ideas on what I can do to update walls on 3 sides of this island in my kitchen. Can’t afford new counters or cabinets so thought I might update this area. Thanks for your comments.BB

You could paint them or add beadboard.
You might think about a colorful patterned peel and stick tile
You could add headboard, faux wainscoting or add tile. This is one idea: https://southernhospitalityblog.com/adding-beadboard-bar/

Brenda: PAINT! ...you could even go a "fun" color like blue or teal
Beadboard or wainscoting with nice molding. Or you can tile it, either with the designer tiles or the peel and stick kind. But I think the designer tiles with grout would look better
Paint it a dark color or a bright one that makes you happy. I like the stencil. It could be done in a lwhite or light color if you paint the rest of the area a dark color.
Paint it a contrast to the countertop. Clear off all that clutter and do not let it come back. Place 1 focal piece there. Change out the barstools or recover them.
add barnwood type ship lap for a new look
Hi Brenda,
Panel it to match the cabinets, rather than leaving it plain, or paint it the mushroom colour to blend in with the floor and tops to blend in rather than stand out. Best wishes.
Hi Brenda, for this, I would do chalk paint in a nice color that compliments the floor!! Hope this helps!

How to Update a Kitchen Island

The link above has more details for painting the island which would give it a whole new look. Please let us know what you end up doing.
Hello. I would consider painting the wood and making a raised paneled finish to give the flat exposed area some interest and dimension.
I would pick a color that is in the counter top on it (a lighter color) and paint it that color to brighten it up.
New hardware and a bright color on the wall, maybe Sherwin Williams Sea Salt.
I would take a medium tone from the floor color and paint it. Bead board would look good. Shiplap would give a more modern look.
you could use shiplap or peel and stick tiles - you could tile just the front side of the island with tiles on clearance from any of the big box stores- you could paint the entire island a different color than the cabinets. We have a black island with our light countertops and then brown cabinets and it looks great
Paint would go a long way or even contact paper
You could paint it
I would paint and add a bead board on one site to add a bit more of detail
