Cupcake Bath Bombs
These cute bath bombs are easy to make in two parts. First you make the bath bomb. Then you make the soap frosting. Let them sit for 2 days and let them harden.
- 2 cups baking soda
- 1 cup citric acid
- 1/4 cup white kaolin clay
- 2 tablespoons pink Himalayan salt
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 1 tablespoons polysorbate 80
- 10-20 drops essential oils
- 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons pink mica
- 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons gold mica
- 1-2 teaspoons body safe gold glitter
- 1-2 teaspoons body safe pink glitter
- Mini muffin tin
- Spray bottle with rubbing alcohol
- Large Mixing Bowl
- 3/4 cup whipped soap base
- 1 tablespoon glycerin
- 5 drops essential oils
- 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder
- 1/4 cup clear or white melt and pour soap base
- 1-2 teaspoons mica
- Piping kit
- Large mixing bowl
Place baking soda, citric acid, pink Himalayan salt, and kaolin clay in a large bowl. Whisk together dry ingredients.
Melt the coconut oil in the microwave. Pour over dry ingredients. Whisk well.
Add polysorbate 80, essential oils, mica, and body safe glitter. Mix well with gloved hands. Spray 4 to 5 times with rubbing alcohol and mix. Keep spraying a few sprays at a time and mixing until the mixture holds it shape when you squeeze it.
Press the bath bomb mixture firmly into the mold. Let sit for 24 hours before unmolding.
To make the soap frosting recipe, add whipped soap base and glycerin to a bowl. Mix on low until fluffy, about 1 minute.
Add the essential oils and arrowroot powder. Mix on low for 30 seconds. Cut melt and pour soap into 1 inch cubes. Microwave for 30 seconds until melted. Let cool for 1 minute.
Add melted soap, mica, and body safe glitter to the bath whip. Mix on high for one minute. It should form a stiff peak.
If it not get stiff, add more arrowroot powder.
Place the whipped soap into a piping bag. Use a large tip to frost the top of the cupcake.
Let dry for 2-3 days. The foaming bath whip frosting recipe will harden in two days.
