Boho Nursery Crib Mobile

Here's what you'll need:

• wood beads of choice
• wood embroidery hoop (any size)
• twine/string
• stain or paint
• ceiling hook or mobile arm

Tools you'll need:

• hammer
• finishing nail
• needle

You can use either the outer or inside hoop- I'm using the inside hoop since it doesn't have the metal tightener on it.

• Cut hoop in half using scissors or heavy duty cutters
• Make small holes in the hoop by gently tapping a finishing nail in and then removing
• There should be a hole directly in the middle, and however many more you would like along the sides- make sure they are even on either side
• Repeat for the other half of the hoop

I'm making this mobile gender neutral, so I opted to just stain a few of the beads and paint a few of the shaped ones white.

The butcher twine I used was a bit thick and made it tricky to thread through the hoop. I used a needle with a larger eye to get the string through.

I'm using a longer string for the side pieces, but you can also use one string and tie a knot on the top of each hole to keep it from slipping through.

Add your beads in whatever pattern you like! I kept holding up the hoop halves together to see what would look best.

Add a string with beads to one of the hoop halves for the middle piece.

• First, see how long you will need the top string to be to hang from your ceiling/mobile arm. I measured this and cut a piece of string twice as long to fold in half to make it a bit sturdier.
• Thread this piece of string through the middle holes of the hoop halves and tie a sturdy knot underneath.
• To keep the hoop halves from moving around, wrap twine around in a crisscross pattern and tie.
• Thread on a few beads to sit on the top of this.

Looking at it now, I could've went with a larger embroidery hoop, but still like the way this one turned out!
