I use chenille ties (pipe cleaners) to affix the mesh ribbon to the frame. Tie one end, make a loop and tie it, repeat until you have gone all the way around. Then repeat with second color. Add a third if desired. Take a look at it and see if it is full enough. Once you have enough ribbon, then add other items. This is one I did and then went back and added some glitter leaf picks after I hung it. The biggest issue I find is that no matter how much mesh I buy, I usually need another roll.
