Vase Made of Canning Jar
It’s always amazing what you can do with a little color and a good idea. Here, a canning jar was painted in light turquoise and decorated with triangles made of wood veneer.
- Large canning jar
- Chalk paint for glass, brush
- Leftover wood veneer
- Scissors, ruler, pencil
- Craft tape
First, you clean the glass and paint it in several thin layers with the chalk paint.
Then let it dry and bake in the oven according to the paint manufacturer’s instructions.
Now you determine the dimensions for the triangles.
Measure the area to be glued on the glass and transfer it to paper.
Then divide the area into triangles approx. 0.5 cm apart.
Then cut out a triangle and use it as a template.
Tape one side of the veneer with craft tape, transfer the triangular shape onto the veneer with a pencil and cut it out.
Finally, carefully peel off the protective film and glue the triangles you cut to the glass like the pattern from the design.
Finished! What do you think of the idea?

What purpose does the yellow tape serve?
Hello Carla S. Bauer,
what is the purpose of the yellow triangles? Did you use them to decorate another jar? Or maybe it is double sided tape to affix the wood veneer? Any of these options do not have directions or part of it is missing???
