I love this idea for using it to hold a cute collection of vintage items:
For the holidays, fill it with greens, run some lights through it and add a big bow.
Hi Eaine, how about hanging it on a wall for storage? Or cut a wood piece to fit on the top and use as a storage ottaman?

I turned several on the their side, zip tied them together, and spray painted. Then I had very sturdy "cubes" for storage in my daughter's room.
We also made some holiday scenes in some of them. Halloween, Valentines, Christmas, and Thanksgiving are the ones we made.
I am redoing one now. If it is truly and old one with the metal dividers in a wooden crate, turn it on it's side and use to store rolled towels. I am keeping mine original with touching up the logo and polyurethane to protect. You could also use for magazines that are rolled. I hope you aren't talking about the plastic ones from a dairy. Unless they are out of business there is a penalty for theft sign on them.

I think it depends on if you mean for the holidays or for regular use, indoors or out, and if it's purely decorative or meant to have a function as well. Try the search bar at the top left on Hometalk for ideas, no doubt you'll find a bunch.

Material Of The Week: Milk Crates
Hi Elaine
Here is some info

Hi Elaine, you could use it for the base of your Christmas tree. If you have a fake tree you could put the base right into the crate for a vintage look.
Here's a post that might help - https://www.homedit.com/recycled-milk-crate-buffet/
I made a little foot rest/storage piece with mine https://www.homeroad.net/2013/02/vintage-milk-crate-stool.html
Hi Elaine. If it's a wire milk crate, you could feed a pretty Christmas ribbon through the wires with a nice bow on the front. Use it to store Christmas cards as you receive them. Good luck Elaine. Happy Holidays.

Hi Elaine,
Paint it up and use t to display Pots of Plants in the recesses. Turn it up and use as a Step.
Make a cushion for it and use as a Stool or add a top and use as a table. Turn it on it's end, wind rope or add boards and use as Plant/Lamp /stand or even Stool. Have fun!
Lay it on it's side and put decor inside and on top!
