Hi! I'm fairly handy, but, I don't do electrical wiring. There are codes you must follow and multiple safety issues. I've found most tradesmen (and women) are glad for the work these days. Stay safe!
Unless you can pass the test at your local county office, I would hire someone. My husband had worked in construction for 20+ years and he had a difficult time passing the test, and believe me he knows his stuff! Make sure whomever you hire is certified.
Here's a post that might help - https://www.oneprojectcloser.com/how-to-run-a-new-electric-circuit-from-a-breaker-panel/#:~:text=Running%20Romex%20on%20studs%20and,or%20fixture%2C%20and%20so%20on.
I would strongly suggest you hire a licensed electrician for this. It's too easy to do this wrong and burn your house down after which insurance won't pay. This one is not a DIY if you don't already have the skills.
I'd hire this one out too!
I agree with above comments. Each city has codes and rules. A pro electrician will know what and what not to do. We used Home Advisors three times when we moved into our house. Home Advisors runs background checks on all their skilled laborers so you can feel comfortable having them in your home. You can also read customer's reviews to see what other customers thought of them. And, here's the best part, it's free to use. I highly recommend them. I'm sure you will find an electrician to do this work for you. Good luck Katie. Happy Holidays.
First make sure that is the issue because it's usually put in before the carpenters close it up when putting up walls , but if your not expirenced there's certain factors when cutting out the wall, studs wireing and you could get hurt so get someone who's expirenced but be best .
My husband does everything DIY except touch the box. For that he calls the pros.
Hello Katie,
Please be very careful. If you don't know what you are doing, do call in an electrician to help you.

You want to be sure you are doing this to code. Call an Electrician, he will know what codes are applicable in your area.
