Inexpensive ceiling for sunroom
My parent's passed away and we have a very limited budget to get the house ready to sell! We had a problem with leakage in the sunroom of my parent's house and the sheetrock was all taken down by my sister. We are now looking at rough 2x6's on the ceiling. Any ideas for an inexpensive fix? The space to cover is 10x28 ft.

A drop ceiling may be the way to go. They make some very pretty tiles for them now. Check your local home improvement store to see what's available.
Some places require building permits for something like that (San Diego comes to mind). To be on the safe side give your building department a call before doing anything. Plus if you are going to sell the property it will need to pass inspection. You might want to call your home owners insurance and find out if they require anything.

How can I finish my back porch ceiling in an inexpensive way?
A drop ceiling would do the trick, Amazon carries them along with Home Depot and Lowes.
drop ceilings would be the cheapest and easiest but you could always just let that be an item that you know you will have to give a credit on the sell of the house for - so sorry for the loss of your parents

White beadboard panels might be an inexpensive way to deal with this, depending upon the style of the rest of the home. They are available in 4'x8' sheets and are not terribly heavy.

Hello Tami,
If the roofing is solid (N0t Glass ) You could buy some "Roofix" and paint the stuff on all over as directed, that would seal it and waterproof it for you on the outside. Available on eBay. etc. If glass and the glass is not broken, then you need to seal all the joints.
I would just paint it a nice bright white.
280 sq ft is a large area to be lifting up and working with your arms above your head, especially if you are not used to this kind of project.
Making a decision on how to repair the ceiling is only half of the dilemna. The other hard part is finding someone who can come soon to do the work, or to help you do the work. These days, many tradespeople are really backed up, as are orders and deliveries for construction materials.
Your waiting time may be long.
If you are intending on spending money on the room just to list the house for sale, I would suggest that you reduce the price to reflect the inferior state of the sunroom ceiling, get the house sold faster, and move on.
Hello on our screen porch we used a conventional wood beadboard but there’s also a vinyl plastic carefree beadboard sheet option.
I wonder if something like this might be an option for you to consider.
