There may be some information on HOUZZ as well to look at.

  • Pictures would be helpful, but since there's already plumbing, the job will be a bit easier. Placing the sink where the existing water supply and drain are will save you money.

Hi Karen, we would absolutely be happy to help. You can either add pictures to this post or start a separate one and that will help.

Pictures would definitely help a lot! A kitchen sink and cabinets would be easy to replace the current bathroom vanity. Not moving any plumbing would be your best bet in keeping cost down. If there's enough space you could even add a dishwasher beside the sink. Bathroom sinks and kitchen sinks have the exactly same plumbing.

Removing the shower will definitely take more time but you could simply cap off the drain and water lines, take out the shower and fix walls and then replace it with upper and lower cabinets. That way if there is every a time when you may want to convert it back the plumbing would all still be there. It is the same situation with the toilet, they sell specific "covers" in the plumbing area to cap off toilet drains then you could also put cabinets there as well.

you would need to come up with a plan of what exactly is you want first by looking at designs online or in magazines then possibly hire a contractor-

H Karen: Yes, pictures would help a lot. Looking forward to seeing them.

  • I would contact a contractor to find out what is even physically possible in the space with codes etc.

I never saw the pictures but in general choose a theme or use magazines or hgtv site for inspiration.
