It sounds like your replacing part of the floor with plywood so you'll need to cut the plywood into strips of the correct width. You will also have to apply a stain to match the original floor.
Not quite sure what you are trying to do with the matching of the plywood, a picture would help if you have one.
Wht I could suggest is to find a wood stain that will be the closest to the hardwood floor, Minwax makes them and you could look there, they demo their stains on oak and pine to give you an idea.

Are you attempting to match the heights for a seamless transition or do you want to match the look of the flooring?
It is hard to answer your question without knowing where it is that you are wanting to match the wood. Please tell us a little more about your project and post a picture of the area in question so that we can see what sort of space you are working with.
Hi Linda, could you give us a little more information so we can point you in the right direction?
Hello,
The best you can do is to Stain it the right colour, then use Sharpies to replicate the grain in the wood, then seal it.

Hello. Matching with color of your hardwood could be challenging probably several samples of stain might need to be obtained to see how the plywood absorbs the color.
