Which type of shades will be suitable for modern interior design?
Hi there,
I bought an apartment recently. I have a plan to renovate its interior. But, I'm a little confused regarding the selection of shades. I want to have a modern interior design. Which type of shades will be suitable for modern interior design?

So much of modern design is spare white walls. Does that appeal to you?
Hi Freecard, I assumed you were asking about modern window coverings, but I see someone else is thinking paint "shades". Here's so info on window coverings, if that's what you are asking about.

The shades I see used most for modern are the roller shades. Back in the 60s for mid-century modern we often coordinated our roller shades by using the same upholstry fabric,
I like the new opaque roller shades that can even be purchased in mylar to reduce UV light and heat,
I personally think that cellular shades might work for you.
They can open or raise in a few different ways, even come in black out.
Look at some of the options:

Light Gray! Then find a piece that adds a pop of color to the room!
Hi Freeecard. If you're asking about which shades of color are being used to achieve a modern look, I think gray and white are used most often. White fur is used a lot and anything covered in mirror is big right now. good luck.
By shades are you referring to paint colors, such as on the walls and ceilings?
Or are you referring to window covering blinds and draperies?
If it is paint colors, then keep in mind that it is way more expensive and a great deal more work to repaint the wall colors, if you find (after they are painted) that you chose a color too dark or too intense. For this reason, it is recommended that you choose neutral colors.
It is much easier to switch out home furnishings and accessories with new pieces in colors or shades that you are drawn towards.
Understanding the color wheel might be a good place to start.
You can't go wrong with clean lines in neutral colors!
I tend to think whites, metallics (like gold), black and some natural elements in green are very modern.
I prefer the blinds with no strings/pulls for a clean look
Personally i like the shades that fit inside the window frame, rather then cover the whole thing. heres a site with some nice ideas...
