How can I display beautiful plates_
I have purchased beautiful plates, mostly from thrift stores. I have too many to fit on a wall.
Can someone please suggest a way to display them, other than on a wall?

Also you can display some of them in a grouping on the wall or over a doorway - you can display them on china cabinets, etc.

I bought plate hangers for my plates, You can purchase them at the Dollar Store. They attach to the sides of the plate and are virtually invisible, to hang on a wall.
I would recommend installing floating shelves with an edge or groove, to prevent the plates from slipping off.
With floating shelves, it is the items displayed on the shelf that are featured, rather than the shelf hardware or brackets.
You can switch out your collection according to different seasons, choosing to display only some at any one time, without having to make more holes in the walls to rearrange the individual hangers.
You could display them on a hutch or in a bookcase: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/165366617557398389/
If you are brave enough to remove a cabinet door, you could display them in your kitchen cabinets.
Here are some ideas to consider:

Perhaps you can have a handyman/woman create vary narrow shelves and route out a groove to place your plates so they won't fall off the narrow shelf.. The shelves could actually be from near the floor to the ceiling depending on how many plates you have. You might also consider changing them out a few times each year if you have too many to display and enjoy all at once. You might also consider this type of shelf around different rooms of your home at near ceiling height, sort of a border of beautiful your beautiful plate collection. So happy you are wanting to display them rather than pakcing them away.
Hello. Mine are displayed on the wall- but there are many wooden shelving designs with a plate grooves routed onto the shelving surface. Curio cabinetry might be another idea. Craigslist could be an economical venue to explore.
