One way to add storage is to use underbed storage area. I've cut down cardboard boxes, covered with gift wrap. I place extra pj's, socks, sheet sets in them to keep them handy but unnoticeable. Problem is, sometimes I forget what all I've stored in them. You can even store extra supplies such as tp, shampoos, conditioners, etc. in them when placed in the shallow boxes horizontally. Just be sure the containers are well closed.
After under bed, go verticals. Tall Bookshelves can be upcycled and put a small tension rod in the top shelf, with a curtain panel to cover the labeled storage bins inside.

Think vertical! Can you add any high storage like shelves
Purge first then add shelves with baskets. Think of odd places like over the doors. Under the bed storage by adding a platform bed with built ins or get rolling under bed boxes. Utilize the space above and below in your closet. Rolling items will allow you to put more into the same space so think about things like underwear. Cascade your hangers in your closet so you can utilize more space for t-shirts and thin items.
I tossed everything I didn't need and then got baskets. Also a vanity with lots of drawers makes all the difference: https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2013/09/organizing-bathroom-and-my-life.html
Hello Shannon,
Lay the flooring, Position the bed and bedside table. The wardrobe etc. If you don't want to keep moving the furniture around until it looks right, draw a plan of the room to scale. Include doors and windows . Measure your furniture with the same scale draw up the shapes and label. Cut the furniture out and place on the room plan. Then more the furniture around on the plan until you are happy with it. Best wishes.
Adding a double closet rod to you closet helps keep the clothes in it. Then adding storage under the bed using either a bookcase and cubes, or getting some old drawers and making pull outs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dw_LpsvXP3k
If there is not room for a bedside table - consider adding a small Ikea floating shelf or I have purchased a floor lamp with a small glass table around it to use for a drink, phone and a couple other items. https://www.lampsplus.com/sfp/9K251/?cm_mmc=GOO-SH-_-NA-_-NA-_-9K251&sourceid=DFGPD9K251&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrsGCBhD1ARIsALILBYrjoIfeJamk1uUnTEj1Xrwn4m8i5EjPQeWdVwO2nW-H7lkcJcyDVpcaAia-EALw_wcB

Add another rod... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdcgsWb-S_c I had the lumberyard cut me a 12" melamine shelf to add above the lower rod for storing sweaters or shoes.
I would look for a bed that has storage underneath, such as pull out drawers or is up high enough you can store some tubs under it. Then, for your closet I would store only what you need in it and then perhaps elsewhere in the house you can store items that aren't currently in season. I'd look for furniture like a chest of drawers where you can fit more clothing. I've seen night stands that are two tables and one goes underneath the other when not in use.
I would use under the bed storage bags or use those storage bags where you vacuum out the air to flatten the contents. You could stack out of season clothes in boxes on a top bedroom closet shelf.
Be sure to utilize storage room under your bed! Also check out these other bedroom accessories that also have dual purpose of both decor and storage: https://amzn.to/3c6Z7SK
Baskets and bins for things. Label as much as possible. Use wall space for shelving or the back of the door
