Farmhouse Textured DIY Vases
Have you noticed DIY vases are all the rage? Here is another collection I recently did this set in a modern farmhouse finish.
Start out cleaning all your vases well, you want the paint to have a good adherence. The other items needed are paint, some jute and a texture powder. I chose my paint and powder from Dixie Belle Paint.
Mixing the sea spray texture powder in with the paint is step 1. Add paint and powder till you have the desired consistency.
Using a chip brush; apply to the vases in a pattern you like. I varied mine on all on them; some horizontal, some vertical and some stippled.
Allow them to dry. More layers can be added to get the coverage you want.
One 3 of the vases I left the bottom portion bare. To add more texture and farmhouse feel jute rope was added. Starting at the bottom hot glue in place then circle the vase tacking in spots as you go again with your hot glue gun.
On the mason jar I did the top edge. I have done other DIY vase collections over on my blog; Concrete, patina, beachy, and so much more.

Thank you for the idea. I have two glass lamp bases that I was holding on to until I found a way to fix them. This looks like it will do the job.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
I decided to make a floral arrangement & I glued the flowers to the bottom of the vase like i've seen in stores. Now the vase is cloudy & needs to be cleaned. How can I clean the vase without removing the glued flowers? Thanks
