What else to do with outdoor planters/pots?
This past winter all our outdoor plants died. We have really nice pots but don't want more live plants, or fake ones. Any DIY ideas for the pots, or what to put in them, to make the space look welcoming again?

Cover the top of the dirt in the pot with small gravel or rocks, to hide the dirt, and so they don't tip over in the wind; then use as bases for wooden welcoming signs, wreaths, antique objects, vintage mailbox, or mini lights. Don't feel like you have to use all the pots right away. Keep some aside for seasonal yard decorations such as pumpkin displays for Halloween.
If you get frequent home deliveries, mark one pot with a sign -'Packages here please' or if you subscribe to a newspaper, one pot could be used as a designated place to put it, instead of having it laying on the ground.
You could put some cool signs in them. Turn one into a out door sink... Put a glass top and use as a table....
