Refinish bathtub?
I only have 1 coat of Homax tough as tile applied. Is it necessary for proper finish and adhesion to do 2nd coat as I have surpassed the 6 hour limit?

I would check with the manufacturer for the best advice. Check the packaging for contact information.
Hello. For the proper application I suggest try calling the customer service of your homax product. They should be able to give you the information and support you need.
I agree with the other comments, I would check with the manufacturer of your specific paint / refinishing kit before proceeding. They may suggest you remove what you did and start over to be able to guarantee a proper finish. Honestly, if it were me, I would probably just proceed for lack of better options but I can't encourage that.
Yes, contact customer service for advice. I'm sure you're not the first person to have not applied the second coat within the timeframe advised. The company may have some good hints on how to proceed for optimal results.
Your best bet, as others have said, is to contact the manufacturer of the product to get the best advice.

Hi Kim, I agree, contact Homax, it should not make much of a difference, but better safe than sorry.
I would do the 2nd coat. Over time it will begin to wear off since you can't bake it.
I used this tub refinishing kit in the past and it worked really well. https://amzn.to/33lJ0vb

What do the instructions say. I would do a second coat anyway
Doing a second would be better.

A second coverage would make the bathtub last much longer. You do not want to redo every few years
