Hello. I witnessed it done with white glue.. My son carefully flipped it upside down using two flat cooke sheets.
Next white glued the reverse side.
Dried overnite.
When dry flipped it and framed it. Moved it by sliding it. Hope this helps.

To seal puzzle you can apply some glue to your puzzle then evenly spread it. For spreading, you can use a plastic paddle, a piece of cardboard, a business card, a sponge, or a brush. Ensure that you have sealed the edges.

I buy puzzle glue for my mother in law. She does puzzles all day long. You coat the entire surface with it and it dries clear. Here's a link for the product I buy:

I've seen puzzle saver types of glues and sealers at craft and hobby stores. I bet Amazon has something along those lines too.
