Build a Barn Door With a Modern Twist
I built double barn doors two years ago maybe. I've never built anything before so I watched a ton of video tutorials before hand and researched all the tools and various products that I'd need. It is time consuming but doing it myself saved a ton of money. I think my total cost was somewhere around $350.00 for both doors and the hanging hardware but that was before the pandemic and the price of lumber and probably most everything has risen substantially since then. You're really going to need a set of saw horses to work on so borrowing those is best if you don't have any already. The doors I made aren't 100% perfect by any means but I wanted that rugged look and I think I achieved it. Sorry I don't have any photos to share but a few words of encouragement; If I can do this I think anyone can. Oh also, I bought the rail and hardware for hanging the doors online from Amazon and it's called Homlux They sell all sizes (we're pleased with it) but you can research that as well and get what suits you. Good luck! I'll see if I can a photo later...

I've seen people buy the hardware kits from Home Depot and sliding closet doors off the shelf there, too and use the slab doors. They either painted or stained them depending on the look they like.
