You can use chenille ties (pipe cleaners is what we called them as a kid). Another idea would be just tying with thin metal wire, the kind you use for floral arrangements. I got some that had a green plastic coating at the dollar tree and pulling the coating off. It's great and super cheap.
Hello. I would consider using hot glue on the painted cardboard round. I think I would consider if ants and insects be attracted to this and try to invade your home. Something to think about.
