Paint is likely your only answer. No matter if they are wood, thermofoil, formica, stained or painted, there are methods to paint them. Figure out what they are and then you can research what the best way to paint yours will be.
paint or stain would be best -https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/rooms-and-spaces/kitchen/how-to-paint-kitchen-cabinets-videos
Stain would work but paint is probably the quickest way to change. Decide on what color you want to go with and then a home improvement store would be your next stop to select the appropriate color and type of paint. If painting, use a stain-blocking primer first.
Hello! I have not personally done this project. But I found the bloggers link very interesting. It seems to be a nice white cabinet refurb.
It might be helpful to review.
Hope this helps!.

Hi Susan, I love chalk paint for this, it provides a nice rich look to the cabinets!

You can sand and restain. Very long process. Or...chalk paint works over most everything.
If it is glossy finish you may have to LIGHTLY sand. Usually chalk paint covers all evils.
You must clean all kitchen grease and greasy fingerprints for paint to stick so use a good degreaser like TSP first. Two coats of chalk paint usually does it. If you don't want to use chalk paint you will need strip the stain off. Unless you have flat doors it will take a lot of work. Seal chalk paint with clear wax. I did not on my one tall cabinet because if there is a bit of wear on the corners - I like the distressed look. You can also highlite the edged or indentations with antiquing wax. A TINY bit goes a long way.

How To Paint Kitchen Cabinets
Hi Susan! We're currently in the process of renovating--including painting our cabinets. You can follow along with us here: http://www.frenchcreekfarmhouse.com/2021/06/laundry-room-renovation-week-five.html
I painted mine while attached. Wash well first to get any grime off. It was fairly simple. I just started painting with a roller than brushed where roller did not get. I did have to do 2 coats but it wasn’t hard. Granted my kitchen is not that big!!
Painting is the easiest way!
A good cleaning and a light sanding then paint first a primer/sealer, then paint the color you want.
I used a kit by Rust-Oleum called Cabinet Transformations to paint my cabinets. You can see how I did it here: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2015/09/kitchen-cabinets-black.html
We painted ours. Prime them really well and then paint. We rolled ours on and consulted the pros at the paint store for products etc. Came out great.
