Epoxy works well for binding wood to metal, scuff the metal area with 120 grit sandpaper so the epoxy has an area to adhere to on the metal.

I'd try E6000.
Hello. Heres a link that could be helpful
https://www.loctiteproducts.com/en/know-how/fix-stuff/metal-glue.html
I would suggest $-600 in the tube. Thee key is to place the glue on both the wood and the stainless numbers, what a few minutes and then join the two together and let set for several hours.
Epoxy, contact cement or Gorilla Glue.
E6000 adhesive or two part epoxy glue
use Gorilla glue or the E6000 glues
Gorilla glue didn’t work. Today I bought loctite we’ll see how that goes
Super glue with clamps
Power guard by loftier should work but you will probably need to tape it in place until it dries.
I used alien tape to fix my fil’s headstone, the vase had broken off the base, and it has held so far about 3 months.
Silicon or construction adhesive.
Hi Pat, we always use E6000 for our outdoor projects. It's waterproof when dry and will stick almost anything to something else.
I have a stainless steel address plate and had to have someone bore into the stainless steel to hang it, because it would not hold. I even tried outdoor Command hooks.
I personally would use E6000 glue, it is really durable!
Done used loctite adhesive
