I have some linen chalk paint that looks a little yellow to me which isn't bad but I would like to add just a little bit of depth to it and I have some bear latex paint satin finish and a dry brown which is a medium to light neutral brown can I add a little bit of that into it to change the color?

Try a small sample first
Yes, you can mix them, keep in mind you'll be changing the color and consistency. If you add the latex to the chalk paint the chalk finish will be diminished or possibly lost. depending on the amount of latex you add.
How to Mix Chalk Paint with Latex Paint
Now that you know you can mix chalk paint with latex paint, youโre probably wondering what the best way to do so is. The process is pretty easy, but you will need to be incredibly careful. You donโt want to add too much latex paint to the chalk paint or you risk changing the consistency completely.
I like to use Rust-Oleum Chalk Paint for all my chalk paint projects. The quality is amazing, and thereโs tons of colors to choose from!
First, you will want to start with your chalk paint. Pour some onto a palette or into a bowl if you need more of the color. You can choose any color chalk paint, but you will get the best results if you use a lighter color.
Next, choose the latex paint you want to use. You are going to want to add as little latex paint as you possibly can. Start by adding a drop or two at a time, mixing the paint thoroughly after each addition. This will give you a better idea of how close you are to the color you want and prevent adding too much latex paint.
Rust-Oleum also has a great selection of Latex Paint to choose from. Itโs a good idea to mix the same brand together for better consistency results.
It is going to be much easier to add more latex paint to the mixture than it will be to take the latex paint back out. This means it is incredibly important to control how much of the latex paint you are adding into the chalk paint mixture.

Yes, you can, but depending on the amount you add, you won't really have chalk paint anymore.
Hello yes your chalk paint can be tinted.
You might consider using little jars of chalk paint to try to keep the same properties and matte finish. Waverley makes 2 ounce bottles might be something to consider costume costume under two dollars. By mixing with another Proprietary product you dilute the the characteristics of your chalk paint.
Yes you absolutely can! But I would use a good paint paddle on a drill for mixing.
Yes, you can mix colors and various paints to reach the color you want. Just be sure to mix, mix, mix!
you could mix a white or light beige with it to give it a more mellow color

You could but itโs a crap shot at the finish when it dries it canโt hurt as long as itโs all latex
Hi! I mix small amounts of chalk paint or chalk paint and latex paint to get the color I want. Keep track of your ratios and only mix small amounts at a time. Once mixed it tends to separate, so only mix it as you need it. I use a measuring cup and pail or large jar to create my colors. Good luck!
I would do a small batch to test it and keep track of how much you put in. Then I would paint it on a sample of paper and hang it where you'll be using it to see if you like how it looks with the lighting in the room.
You can change the color by adding white paint
Hi Vicki, to counteract the yellow you can add a little blue.
Like others have yes, but chalk paint is a particular kind of paint and adding latex paint to it will change the chemistry. So your result may not be what you had in mind. If you want to keep the chalk paint consistency I would tint it with other chalk paint.
You could always try a very small amount and test pant something...
Adding brown tint to off-white linen color will make it more yellow.... add a drop of violet tint to cancel the yellow, or if its golden add a drop or two of blue tint.
I don't see why not!
Sure, they're both the same base which is water so that would be fine.
