Pretty Floral Hoop Wreath - Wall Decor
I am slowly in the process of transitioning my daughters room from a nursery to a big girl room. Although the decor in that room was fairly simple and neutral
and would still work well now, I wanted to add a few new fun girly decorations to make the space feel more whimsical. I already have some artwork and a mirror hung on two of the walls so I was looking for something a little different to hang on the empty wall above her dresser. I came across a picture of a set of wreaths hung above a bed and I thought the look of grouping several wreaths together was absolutely breathtaking and just the thing I was looking for. Since I love making wreaths I knew I just had to try and recreate a similar look. This was such a fun project to do and I love that my little daughter helped to pick out the flowers that she liked the best.
For this project you will need some wooden embroidery hoops, a glue gun, wire cutters or scissors and some faux flowers and greenery. You can choose whatever size hoops will suit your space best, for this specific project I used a 10”, 12” and 14” hoop.
Begin by snipping off the individual stems of greenery off from the bunch using wire cutters or scissors. I like to first lay out my arrangements before committing and glueing them down.
Secure the stems down with a dab of hot glue every few inches. It is helpful to hold the stem down firmly until the glue dries completely.
I used two branches of greenery on either side of my wreath. Next you want to pop off (or cut off) the flowers from the bouquet and arrange them on the wreath. When you are happy with their placement secure with hot glue.
And here is how the finished product turned out. I am so thrilled with it. It adds the perfect elegant and feminine touch to my daughters room.
I ended up making two more similar wreaths and hung them in a grouping above her dresser. I am very happy with the overall look and scale of these wreaths.
Wreaths are so fun and simple to make. You can be as creative or minimal as you like and they make the perfect decor piece!
