Mid Century Modern Modern

You can see these were pretty rough. I have no idea what was spilled on them. It didn't look like anyone took care of the outsides of this at all. But look at those drawers, aren't they gorgeous? I think the whole set is gorgeous now that the blemishes are gone! Blah blah blah sand, prime and paint, blah blah blah and now let's look at some pretty pictures!
In the middle of taking before shots my phone died. Oops! I only got one of the pieces.
I hope this helps some realize why sometimes furniture needs to be painted to be loved again.
Of course, even in pristine condition I'll paint it if it's unloved and boring!
I left the patina on the handles and just reattached them after new stain/poly.
Hey, how you doing?
Look how smooth.
Not too shabby, eh?
Look at those clean lines.
Gorgeous, right?

Carole on Mar 03, 2015Good look. I picked up two bedsides - not mid century modern like yours but had red/brown fugly stain all over and clumsily done, all splashed inside - Yeuk! I am in the process of painting them. They have been sanded and even though I am using Chalk Paint, I am using a stain block primer first as I don't trust the truly ugly stain not to seep through somehow. The tops were sticky, they are bashed about and needed a bit of wood filler here and there. I hope they turn out anywhere near as well as yours did.
