French Chair Makeover

This post could easily have been named "Nana and the Three Chairs". Because for the past year, I've been looking for the perfect chair to refinish for my mom, or "Nana", as she is known to her grandkids. I bought two chairs for her - and each one was just not right - until the third!
I'm sure you know the story...
This one didn't have the right lines.
And finally, she found this one on her own.
The fabric was faded and torn and ready for a makeover! After all of the old fabric was removed, along with millions (probably an exaggeration - but there were a lot!) the frame was lightly sanded, cleaned, and primed.
Here is the completed frame...ready for a trip to the professional upholsterer! I wish I could claim responsibility for upholstering this chair, but this fabric was really expensive and I didn't want to mess it up!
The finished project! A gorgeous sunny yellow that complements my mom's sitting room perfectly!
And a little surprise on the back!
And so, this story had a happy ending...the third chair was just right (and I was finally able to stop bringing home chairs to make over)!
