I was given this vintage suitcase that I loved. I knew I had to put it to good use. I wanted to create something my husband and I would enjoy.
Adding a $10.00 thrift store wooden wine rack table, a really ugly wooden picture (given to me by a friend after it failed to sell at garage sale) a wine box and a basket of corks. I was ready to start.
The most difficult part of the entire project was cutting the corks. I needed them cut lengthwise. After slicing my fingers two or three times, I got creative.
I made a cork holder. I nailed two rows of wood down placed the cork in betwn making sure it was a snug fit. Once I was sure corks were secure it was easy to split them using an exacting knife.
Here is my suitcase wine bar.I love it! I added a piece of tempered glass to top of suitcase for a flat surface. I had this at home. All my bar essentials can be stored inside the suitcase. Put some shelfs above it you have a full blown bar. Enjoy N Www.discardeddiamonds.com

I decided to make it a full bar when I found this great wooden crate @ a tag sale. For $ 5.00 I couldn't resist. Once @ my apt. I will bolt it to the wall and my bar will be complete. Total cost $15.00 excluding beverages.

Every good suitcase bar deserves a table to go with it, so I made one. Using a crate & pedestal found at a tag sale total cost $7.00 and a table round $3.00. I set to work. The pedestal had screws protruding from the top so I simply drilled holes in the table top and placed it over these. The base will be secure with nuts & bolts when I move it to our apartment. I want it to be portable. The top was covered with masking tape. This is the same treatment I used for my ottoman. Once done I used the same brown shoe polish to give it the leather look. I trimmed the outside of the table in gold nail polish like you see on real leather tables. The final step I will apply a coat of varnish to protect the surface. Time to sit & enjoy !
