Using pallet wood, I built a beautiful blanket chest for my living room. It can also be used as a coffee table.

Best wood stainer!

Get a beautiful stain shade with Minwax stainer that Amazon reviewers swear by!

I started off by cutting my frame out of the braces from a pallet 23x18 Then I cut all of my pallet boards at 18 in high

Then I nailed and stained the boards a red mahogany

Then I cut the lid and sanded both sides

Then I let dry over night

Then when the stained dried I added strap hinges for the lid

Here is a better view of the hinges I used

Then I added old metal handles I got at a flea market and painted them black

As you can see the black matches perfectly with the stain

Then I added chains to the lid so it holds it up and won't let it fall back

Then if you look close I added a piece a of art made out of metal I got the pallet wood from a local grocery store and all of the metal handles and chains from a Flea market the cost was $10 for everything and the time was 2 - 4 hr days to make
