Double Drawer Nightstand Boho Makeover
New Year, New in Hometalk, New Project! I have an exciting DIY where I gave these set of 2 nightstands a Boho Makeover. This is my first time here and I am expanding my platform where I can share my design and inspirations to you. I hope you'll be inspired!
Here I started by removing the old knobs of the nightstands. I kept them to save for other projects.
Cleaned the pieces thoroughly with a TSP substitute.
Filled the hardware holes with Epoxy Putty Stick.
Using a Jigsaw, Framing Square, Furniture Clamps I squared off the bottom to give it a modern look to match our Boho design. After squaring off the bottom is reattached using screws and glue.
I then sanded the drawers and top.
Primed with two coats of bleedthrough preventing primer and painted with two coats of gray/green custom ‘boho color’. Beautiful Neutral Color!
To get our desired boho design, I've added brass hardware to compliment the neutral color. This will give our piece neutral color finish combined with metallic/jewel tone hardware.
Final Look! Actually it's my first time using an jigsaw and I am really proud with the results! Neutral paint finish, brass hardware and the light bare wood. They are all simple but if combined, truly elegantly transfrom a piece! Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
These are so beautiful now. Wonderful transformation.
Why did you fill the hardware holes, since you put a center pull in?
I love what you did to your nightstands. Stunning. They look soft and mellow. What stain/treatment/finish did you use on the drawer fronts? That looks like what I have in mind for a bedroom set.
