Revamping an Old Nightstand

At a local garage sale I got a dark, out of style nightstand, but yet I knew I could make it look good!

I forgot to get a before picture but here is part of it close up.

I used this paint to make up some chalk paint.

I started with the drawers because they were so ornate. I guess this shows more of a “before” picture huh!

Once they were painted (2 coats on the entire piece) I thought I might try to see what the knob looked like without distressing them.

Well, I didn’t like it, so out came the sander. And I loved it. It really brought out the design. The top drawer is distressed already, the bottom is not.

I thought the top needed something so I cut this corner stencil with my Cricut and stenciled it on with a gray paint. I did this to all 4 corners.

I made a bigger stencil for the center.

Oh, just what I envisioned!

I sealed it with this product.

I also lined the drawers with some old wallpaper I had.

I love the way it turned out. Hope this inspires you to try something for yourself!
