Simple Stuffed Animal Storage - Ikea Hack Gorm Shelf

Create simple storage using just a few items to corral the animals roaming your children's bedrooms. This project uses a Gorm shelf from Ikea, 4 - 1 by 2 boards, and 2 - 1 by 4 boards. I created this years ago but I wanted to put it out there on Hometalk. This was always one of my favorite projects.
Here it is in all its glory. I just love the look of the natural wood but you can sure paint it to match the decor of your child's room.
Here are the boards that I bought from the home improvement store. The 1 by 2's are about $1.20 a piece and the 1 by 4's are about $4 a piece. I didn't keep receipts so these are my best guesses.
This is an Ikea Gorm shelf assembled per their instructions.
I added the 4 - 1 by 2's to the face of the shelf using wood glue and brad nails. I added one 1 by 4 to each side. I left the back open since it was going up against a bedroom wall. We added the larger stuffed animals from the back but smaller ones can be squeezed through the slats on the front and through the sides.
