How can I keep racks of oven look like new in self clean mode?
My oven which is relatively new, says I need to remove my rack when in the self clean mode... inside of oven is clean and sparkling but rack is discolored and used looking. I would like it to also like it to look sparkling "like new" as well. Help!

You can soak them in the bathtub with dryer sheets and hot water. Here's a link:

You will need to clean it using stainless steel cleaner or Steel wool soap pads. When clean, wrap tin foil around shelving to help with cleaning.

If you put the metal racks in the tub you will get metal scratches on the tub. Don't do this or you will be scouring your tub as well. You will have to clean the racks separately. Take them outside if you sink won't hold them. Use a stainless steel pad NOT the rusty ones with blue soap. A REAL stainless steel pad. I use Awesome cleaner from the Dollar store it is a GREAT degreaser. Hose off with garden hose if you do them outside. I have stainless sinks that are large enough to stand them on end and scrub.
I fill up a bathtub with water and add several squirts of Dawn detergent. Then I let my racks soak overnight. The next day just rinse them off.

I clean mine with a non toxic oven cleaner to keep them new. You can also clean with steel wool and barkeeper's friend or SOS pads.
Be careful soaking in bathtub. My racks were uncoated at the seams, which of course I did not know. Guess what they rusted.
Sos pads work great for cleaning oven racks!
That you would need to Brillo by hand what happens is the metal on the wrack gets weard and won’t slide in and out .
I've stuck my racks in garbage bags with some ammonia and set them outside overnight. Just a little wiping and they're spotless.
For standard cleaning, use a soapy sponge and hot water to wipe the racks. For stubborn messes, soak oven racks in hot water, dish soap, and a couple scoops of baking soda. Let the racks soak in this mixture for 15 to 30 minutes before scrubbing clean with a soft sponge.
