Good reason to never let dogs on your bed.
I d take it to the cleaners and then keep a little blanket that's easy to launder for the dog .
Is it washable. I have a large front loader washer and can put mine in the washer. But when I did not have a big washer, I took it to the Washerteria where they have those huge washers.
By the way dog grime will come out. If you wash use oxiclean and detergent on the longest cycle you have.
If you have a large top loader you can soak it in that for a few hours with oxiclean.
You'll want to hit it with some kind of pre-treatment for laundry then take it to your local Laundromat to put it in the big washing machine there. If you throw a tennis ball in with it, that acts as an agitator and will help keep the fluff from bunching up too much. In the future, I would suggest using a cheap throw blanket in the spot normally occupied by the dogs that is easier to launder on a more regular basis.
If you have a front load washer or access to one, that's the best. You can use one at the laudromat but it will impede my instructions. Put the comforter in the tub with a scoop of Oxyclean under it. Put your usual detergent in the filler cup. If you have some, you can even add Borax to boost the cleaning power. Fill the washer with HOT water and if you have a presoak cycle, put it on the longest time it has. I have 8 hours. Otherwise, fill the washer and let it move around a bit and then turn off the machine overnight.
If you do not have a washer to do this, you can put the comforter in your bathtub to soak but be aware that once wet, it is very heavy!
After soaking (preferably overnight), let it go through the wash cycle with an extra rinse to remove the soap. Given the current condition of your comforter, I would go ahead and do this twice without even inspecting it.
After 2 rounds of this treatment, inspect the comforter to see that it's clean. If not, repeat again until clean. You don't want to send something dirty through the dryer as it sets the stains.
When you put it in the dryer, add a couple of splashes of white vinegar. This will not only remove all odors, it cuts any leftover soap and disinfects it. There may be a faint odor of vinegar when you remove it from the dryer but it will evaporate quickly.
Washing the comforter will get it far cleaner and disinfected than dry cleaning.
It is washable if it is made of materials other than down or feathers. I would spot spray with a product like Resolve or Shout, let sit for an hour and then wash in a large machine with Oxiclean and a bit of laundry detergent. Put a 1/4 cup of vinegar in the softener cup and that will help to remove smell and soap residue when it rinses. Dry on the line, if you have one, or put into a large dryer, on medium or low, with a dryer ball to help fluff it up again. After getting it clean, DO NOT let your dog sleep on your bed. They carry fleas, etc. and their fur has a lot of oil in it.
I would spray the heck out of it with Spray & Wash on the super dirty areas. Wash in detergent and add either some Oxyi-clean, or 20 mule team borax. It may take more than one wash, don't dry until clean.
Wash your comforter. My washing machine still is big enough to wash a king comforter. If yours isn't, time to visit the local coin laundry. Toss in a cup of white vinegar in the rinse. Will diesenfect and deodorize. Once clean, use an old sheet or get some inexpensive throws that can easily be laundered to toss on top for your dog. I have 3 dogs and 6 cats that sleep with me. Depending upon time of year, I either have an old sheet or soft comfy throws for them to lay on. Keeps the comforter cleaner much longer. If it is down, yes you can still wash. Water is not the enemy of feathers and down, but dry cleaning chemicals are.
if you washed it is clean ....did you think about using a dye ?
Do not dry clean using a washing machine you will have better results.
