How to clean wrought iron pot rack that has years of kitchen grease?
It is black wrought iron hanging pot rack from IKEA. I love it and want to use it for more years, but it has years of caked on kitchen grease and...yuck...cat hair or looks like cat hair ( I have cats, but they don't go in kitchen so it's very strange).

Can you take it down and give it a good scrub? Maybe in the bathtub? TSP is amazing at cutting through grease.
after you degrease it you'll need to dry thoroughly so it doesn't rust maybe even re oil or clear coat it. If you have pets their hair gets in everything. no matter how much you clean. just gets sucked thru out the heating /AC and blown all over the house.
Or take outside and use oven cleaner and hose off.
TSP is what i would use. Put it on your chore list to clean twice a year. Doesn't matter if the cats go in there or not. Their hair wafts through the air and you never even see it. Dry thoroughly so it doesn't rust.
